Dr. Nicholas Catania is an Associate Professor and Program Manager of Elementary Education at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. His research centers on social justice in teacher preparation and equitable practices for marginalized groups, including LGBTQ+ children and families. With over 15 years of K–12 and higher ed experience, he coaches teacher candidates and in-service educators to strengthen their practice in clinical settings.
Dr. Kristina DeWitt is Chair of the Education Department with over 25 years of experience in public and higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in Literacy Education from George Mason University and specializes in curriculum development, teacher preparation, and global education. Passionate about literacy and mentoring future educators, she is dedicated to making reading engaging and supporting preservice teachers in building confidence and compassion.
Kerri Templeton is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Education Coordinator at State College of Florida. With 17 years of experience as a teacher, principal, and statewide education leader, she specializes in literacy instruction and educator development. She holds a Master’s in Reading Education and is completing her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. Her research focuses on instructional walkthroughs and educator self-efficacy, and she is passionate about equipping future teachers with practical, evidence-based strategies.
