Dr. Shelley Warm

Dr. Shelley Warm is a distinguished educator and senior lecturer at the University of Florida’s College of Education, where she coordinates the SITE (Site-based Implementation of Teacher Education) M.Ed. Program. With a career spanning over three decades, Dr. Warm has made significant contributions to early childhood education, literacy, and teacher development. She holds an Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University and has been recognized as Florida’s Outstanding Teacher Educator of the Year by the Florida Association of Teacher Educators. Dr. Warm is dedicated to mentoring future educators and advancing innovative teaching practices.

Dr. Dawa

Dr. Dawa received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida in 2024. She grew up on the Tibetan plateau and earned her bachelor’s degree in Ethnology and History at Minzu University in Beijing, China. She is also a double Gator, having completed her master’s degree in Anthropology at the University of Florida. From 2021 to 2024, she worked for UF’s renowned Site-based Implementation of Teacher Education (SITE) program as a SITE coach. Her interests lie in academic coaching and advising, teacher preparation, and teacher education.

Dr. Barbara Buys

Dr. Barbara Buys is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in early childhood education and reading programs. Currently serving as a SITE Coach at the College of Education, University of Florida, Dr. Buys has held various roles within the School Board of Alachua County, including primary grade teacher, curriculum resource teacher, and supervisor of early childhood programs. With a strong academic background, including a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and both a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Education from the University of Florida, Dr. Buys has also contributed as a visiting assistant professor and elementary school principal. Her areas of expertise include reading readiness, early childhood reading programs, and reading program evaluation, making her a valuable asset in the field of education.
