The students recognized their professional cognitive bias to the activity as demonstrated by their responses to what they identified in the House of Horror simulation room. Most students had already seen cognitive bias situations occurring in the clinical setting and were able to recognize those bias. The top two were overconfidence and confirmation bias. Many students recognized the Sim-IPE as an opportunity to improve communication, teamwork, and understanding each other’s roles and responsibilities as it relates to situational awareness.
